When it comes to nutrition, there is so much information that it can at times be contradictory.  This makes it very difficult to know what to believe.  One way or another, at some point we all have to choose what we believe is the best way to nourish our God given body.  While you make up your mind, remember that God created us and He also created food perfectly designed for our body to recognize and utilize as fuel and repair materials.  The farther away food is from its natural state, the more harmful it is to our health.  Food altered or created by man affects everyone differently based on our individual sensitivity and ability to endure internal stress.  No one can get away with consuming foods that we are not designed to ingest.  Some think they can get away with it because they are symptom free, but they may simply not feel the side effects until it’s too late.

The good news is that there is a mountain of evidence linking most health problems to a cause which can be addressed through diet.  I have listed below some of the most essential components of a diet which will allow you to live a long healthy life:

  3. Anti-Inflammatory
  4. Low in sodium 
  5. Hydrated foods
  6. Foods high in anti-oxidant 
  7. Organic food, free from pesticides, preservatives and hormones

My goal is to educate each patient about which foods can improve or inhibit healing, alter sensitivity to pain and reduce internal stress in their body.  I have combined numerous resources to create one of the most effective diets which address all 7 categories listed.  I call it the Anti-inflammation Diet, since it was originally designed to reduce sensitivity to pain by reducing inflammation.  It was since modified slightly to become the most comprehensive diet, good for most conditions, such as; chronic & acute pain, allergies, diabetes, hypoglycemia, obesity, high blood pressure, neuro-degenerative conditions, fibro-myalgia, arthritis, autoimmune diseases, depression, and more.

My personal experience with it was life changing.  I heard about the dangers of inflammation from Dr. Dan Murphy and it was the answer to a very disturbing health problem of mine.  At the time I felt like my heart was working too hard and becoming heavier.  I was concerned that my mechanical aortic valve was defective and that I may be facing another open heart surgery in the near future.  But one day on the anti-inflammation diet and I was feeling better than I had in my whole life.  Inflammation was building up in my whole body, creating symptoms in my most vulnerable spot, my heart.  To someone else the symptoms may be completely different depending on where the weak link is.  Symptoms are your friend, it’s your body letting you know that there is a problem, so if you are lucky enough to have them, look for the root cause and truly resolve the problem.  Seek help if you don’t understand your body’s language, keeping in mind that the best signs of dysfunction are the objective ones.
